RE: Huawei new product- Distributed CCAP
Finally there is a way to move traditional data and video processing functions from the cable headend to the access network effectively and all the credits go to Huawei Technologies Company limited. This new product- Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) has helped to improve a lot. Besides, the company has also come up with ways in which cable operators can cut costs by enhancing the use of GPON since this allows for the use of the same trunk fiber by four fiber nodes. This idea is great because it also helps enhance carrier to noise ratio of the networks hence improving efficiencies.

Re: D-CCAP
Will also be interesting to see how the different vendors' approaches vary. We'll try to get more details from Huawei in the meantime.

D-CCAP
this is just so fascinating to me. Before the cable industry hgas even deployed CCAP that much, it's already looking at a next-gen version of it. How big could his market be? And what will be the winning approach? There should be much buzz about this topic at SCTE in September.
