The MIIT hasn't specified the frequenices, but these early networks should be in the 1800MHz band. .

Worth mentioning that as China Mobile is busy deploying 4G in China, they are also doing the same in neighboring country Pakistan. And that remains their only operation overseas. There too they are the only 4G player.

Playing catch-up
China Mobile got something of a head's start with its TDD 4G, so now Telecom and Unicom have some catching up to do.

The authorities said last year that FDD licenses wouldn't be issued until the market was ripe -- that appears to mean that they wanted to give China Mobile a bit of a head's start after its 3G strategy didn't work out as planned...
