Re : The Right Not To Be Forgotten
It is not really of any importance to remove ones digital trace once they have been online. Trying to remove a person's digital trace is very strenuous. I agree with Kruz that there should be an option that allows a user to be removed from Google search and the other searches. This is far much better than removing a user from some specific links. Besides, keeping ones digital trace can be of great help whenever insecurity issues arise or for statistical purposes.

Re: The horse's mouth
why is it so?

Once a user goes online, it is too much of a hassle to remove his digital trace. But there should be the option to remove him from Google search, rather from specific links(all or nothing), at least.

Re: The horse's mouth
@mendyk Is that even possible? I believe the EU conceded it wasn't possible and so settled on  "the right of erasure."   A Reuters article explained that after speaking with technology experts, the commission had to concede the impossibility of completely removing all online records. "Individuals should not be promised something that could not be achieved, the officials said."

Yes, I believe it's pinned up on Google's corkboard just as you enter their reception at Sunnyvale HQ. Stick my name down too while you're at it, Dennis.
