Interesting. Seems like a basic feature, but FaceTime audio would be awesome when I travel abroad. Then, I'm only using FaceTime cause it's free, not because I want to see the person I'm talking with. Definitely not good news for the carriers, probably worse news than when FaceTime over LTE.

Apple is also buiding Facetime Audio into OS X, not good news for carriers or VoLTE in general.

Viber's also been announced Windows 8, which puts it in good position against Skype.
