Verizon also building out SeaMicro architecture
Verizon not only came up with its own version of an SDN, it's running Verizon Cloud Compute on SeaMicro-originated hardware with server motherboards the size of a credit card. It's trying to innovate to bring new competitive advantage to market. That has its risks. Let's hope for Verizon's customers' sake that it also has its rewards.

Re: Partners
Good question - they aren't talking about the vendors right now (big shock). But as Heavy Reading analyst Caroline Chappell noted in our coverage of the new platform:

"Verizon Cloud Compute features a novel, Verizon-developed software-defined networking fabric, an in-house extended open source hypervisor and a simplified hardware platform."

I will ask more questions about this in the weeks ahead, I promise.

Nope not yet -- I have to admit that enteprise apps aren't my area of expertise.

Re: VZON Wireless factor
Ray,

I think there will defnitely be more activity linking Verizon's cloud services and mobility and targetting the enterprise. It's one of the primary benefits that I see for Verizon buying back VZ Wireless.

Any hints yet on who some of those partners will be?

VZON Wireless factor
Once full ownership of Verizon Wireless is attained, I wonder if this will herald a more aggressive push in the enterprise sector using LTE  as a key enabler of cloud service delivery?
