I think that Caroline's comment is interesting: IBM invested a lot in developing a solution that was heavily dependent on consulting and now it needs a product - that's definitely where things are headed.

I also definitely agree that Guavus could be next to go the way of M&A. That's one of the reasons it made our Best Private Company short list, and it seems open to the possibility too. Which company do you think would acquire it? Definitely a vendor, or perhaps an operator?

Good fit
This seems like a smart strategy for both companies. TNF already has a strong wireless operator customer base, and IBM has the name and the reach to grow it further. It will also fill out IBM's offerings nicely to have a good big-data/analytics/CEM story to tell.
