John Donovan - "Naaah - THAT's a knife"
The way the voting has gone the last few days reminds me of the mugging scene in "Crocodile Dundee".

First, the two Industry Association Chairman, Nan Chen and Keith Willets, were looking pretty menacing - "He's got a knife".

Then AT&T suddenly pull out all the stops for John Donovan: "Naaah - THAT'S a knife"

Re: Nicki Palmer, Verizon Wireless
Yep. Thanks. Wish we had thought of her. Oh well. As Brroklyn Dodgers fans used to say, "Wait till next year."

Nicki Palmer, Verizon Wireless
You missed someone that should be nominated. She has worked her way up through a male dominated industry to become the Chief Network Office for Verizon Wireless. Under her leadership they are kicking butt in 4G LTE deployments. Nominate Nicki Palmer. I am upset she didn't even make your list.

Re: Unless I'm misinterpreting things
The numbers don't lie. It's definitely Willetts vs. Chen or OSS versus Ethernet, take your pick.

Unless I'm misinterpreting things
Unless I'm misinterpreting things, it would seem that the two Industry Association Chairmen are somehow running neck and neck.

Re: Serious point about this poll....
"If we used these results only, then every year we would be adding only people from large organizations who have a lot of voting influence and would always prevail due to sheer weight of numbers...."

That explains the groundswell of support for Ben Verwaayan.

Serious point about this poll....
Before anyone gets too excited....

please note.... The poll asks

Who deserves to be ushered into Light Reading's Hall of Fame this year?

so we are asking for general views about who in this list 'deserves' a place in the Hall of Fame -- this is not a vote to decide who is actually inducted.

If we used these results only, then every year we would be adding only people from large organizations who have a lot of voting influence and would always prevail due to sheer weight of numbers....

This poll is a way of asking the Light Reading community's view on which of these individuals deserves to be in the Hall.... we will take the poll result into consideration but will not be using it  as the ultimate guide.

the decision of who makes it into the hall of fame is made by the Loiht Reading editorial team based on a number of factors, of which this poll provides a modicum of guidance.
