Light Reading is an information resource covering optical networking, a set of technologies that will propel the Internet into a new era and lead to the convergence of telecommunications and TV.
Our Website and weekly e-mail newsletter help carriers, vendors and investors steer a course towards this goal by providing timely, in-depth analysis of developments.
We aim to give you the inside dope on what's going on in the optical networking industry and to explain the significance of developments by putting them into context.
In order to do this, we're breaking new ground by combining aggressive technology news analysis with top-flight financial journalism. WeGÇÖre also the only publication to cover the people behind the optical networking industry.
We're providing this information free of charge. Our revenues come from other sources such as advertising and conferences.
Light Reading was founded by Stephen Saunders and Peter Heywood, former executive editors of Data Communications magazine.
It was launched on February 1st, 2000. Since then, traffic has rocketed.
Light Reading is expanding rapidly (see Light Reading Expands Media Empire. Unlike most dotcoms, it's been profitable from day one.

top-flight financial journalism .... what does that mean?

Agree that LR deserves the hand slap on this one though there is probably something fishy going on here.
IGÇÖll be the first to admit that I enjoy reading LR. Sometimes for information, sometimes for entertainment. Heck, I enjoy reading the tabloid headlines at the grocery store too. I donGÇÖt purchase the tabloids just like I wouldnGÇÖt pay to read LR. But I will lend them my eyeballs every now and then...
Thanks,

It needs a more catchy title:
"Light Reading Forced to Make Full Retraction"
