What technology, no matter how slightly incremental it may seam, is providing the shoulders for this optics business to stand on. For instance, I can site RPR (802.17) adoption as cost effective while supported over a PHY that's optics friendly (cheap and speedy serial silicon). It reminds me of FDDI backbone technology on steriods! -high powered rings serving huge metro areas with more bandwidth enabling deepr aggregation/service mix. So what else, WiMAX to the premise?
