Bah humbug!&nbsp; So why didn't they call it 4G when HSPA was invented/deployed?&nbsp; Why only scramble to re-define HSPA as 4G when Verizon launched LTE as the official 4G?&nbsp; At this point, who cares?&nbsp; The waters are muddied for 5G.


As M. Jourdain said in Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme: By my faith! For more than forty (two) years I have been speaking prose&nbsp; (4G) without knowing anything about it, and I am much obliged to you for having taught me that.

I should have noticed this before but Fortune cites this article and the accompanying conversation for shedding a lot of light on what 4G is. Not sure if I dig being called a "telecom geek" though! :-)
