re: VZ Plans Nationwide VoLTE in 2013

I bought a USB Pantech 290 datacard in December. It supports 4G and 3G. I'm 0.8 miles from the nearest tower supplying both services. Typical coverage is -76 dBm and good SNR. But the card is constantly (like every day) dropping back to 3G service. Nothing wrong with the card. Nothing wrong with drivers, etc. In the light of the recent VZ admission of problems with LTE in December, which I claim from my customer experience is ongoing here in January, I would be really hesitant about upgrading my next phone handset in the  2013 timeframe to use the new Voice Over LTE service. I'd rather stick with a tried and true CDMA voice service with 0.5% dropped call rate and seldom has an outage than go to whatever they might offer on VoLTE.

Among other things, I sell wireline connectivity to local businesses. I try to keep on top of industry trends and am wondering if Verizon Wireless and the other wireless carriers are looking to cut into the wireline side of the business. That is, do they envision themselves as an eventual viable option for voice connectivity to the likes of Windstream, XO, Level 3 and other wireline service providers.

Thanks!
