re: UbiquiSys Gets Google Boost The spectrum any cellular phone uses is owned by some cellular phone operator. Without spectrum owner's participation, UbiquiSys and Google cannot do anything.

re: UbiquiSys Gets Google Boost Of course, a femtocell is not a hot new cellphone but if Google subsidizes the femto, bundles the G-phone etc, I could see that might to become attractive.

re: UbiquiSys Gets Google Boost I wonder how hard it would be to cut a deal? I think the iPhone shows that carriers are willing to work with wireless upstarts *if* it will bump up their ARPU numbers.

re: UbiquiSys Gets Google Boost No idea why Google is interested in femto cell. Femto cells are for those who don't have good indoor coverage when cellcos won't spend to improve residential coverage. Corp installations may have bigger clout to ask cellcos to improve coverage with macro/pico/femto solutions. Google won't be able to sell mobile ads over RESIDENTIAL femto cells. Cellcos won't get any share of zero revenue from RESIDENTIAL femto cells.
