re: Time Warner Talk Fuels Sonus

Comcast VOIP deal - Is it all Cedar Point or did NT/LU come in late with a sweetheart deal?

AOL - Can they survive without offering VOIP? Is Vonage their answer?

Verizon VOIP - What are the "issues" with NT?

Lucent - Why all the wins with AUDC instead of Telica?

Mergers - Is CSCO really interested in NT?

These stories could make for entertaining reading on the MLK holiday?

re: Time Warner Talk Fuels Sonus
... for Cisco, that is.

Sounds like the Time Warner (TWX) people (telecom guys) are back in control. They did deploy Sonus during the pre-AOL era. TWX/AOL was deploying Cisco BTS during the post-merger because the AOL people (datacom guys) were in charge. AOL is fiercely loyal to Cisco who financed a lot of their gear to AOL when AOL was in the toilet financially.

This is yet another indication the TWX/AOL merger was a fiasco and the TWX people are taking control for the AOL'ers. It now looks like TWX is headed in the right direction.

The $64,000 question is what is Cisco going to do to stop the bleeding now that they've lost yet another VOIP deployment to a smaller company.
