re: The Effect of War on Telecom The US dropped the bomb and killed ~50,000 the first time. Since Japan didn't respond "quick enough" we dropped the second killing 80,000 more civilians. Not military targets. My point:
--------------------------------------------------

US will only fight a war where the opponebt is already finished or is about to surrender. US did not fight USSR directly for 50 years cause they had equal deterent force.

Why not remove the dictator from Pakistan who build Taliban and supported AL Qaida. Wjy not go and fight India . They are the most corrupt and have a record of killing Muslims and Christians.
They will be greeted with nuclear weapons.

re: The Effect of War on Telecom I believe no goverment will let the people know the real reasons for engagement in an agressive war. Why?
It has no common purpose as opposed to a defensive/retaliative war.

Crapshooter, let's make a deal. I'll pay you a one way ticket to Iraq, and you go tell this in person to the mother who has lost her children "by accident".

Puhleeze! What hogwash. How do you survive with a heart that bleeds like a river? I'm surprised you haven't enlisted as a human shield.

re: The Effect of War on Telecom Now I understand. That must be why the 1000's and 1000's of metric tons of food and rations are not making its way to port, the oil tankers are blocking the docks. I feel enlightened now.

re: The Effect of War on Telecom crapshooter,

You're right, I should not sympathize. Americans should proudly and heartlessly go about killing civilians "by accident" around the world, and then, wonder "why don't they like us?" . Of course, the US is in Iraq "by accident". Of course, missiles are launched "by accident". And civilians are in the way "by accident". And at the end of the day, Saddam will be safe in some foreign country, and the US will have a military government in Iraq. So much for "Iraqi freedom".

BTW, on your way to Iraq, you might want to stop in Afghanistan and watch how the US have reinstated and rearmed the old war lords, and how women are still afraid to go out without a burka, and how everybody is still waiting for all that humanitarian aid that was promised BEFORE THE WAR. Ah but they're just another bunch of whiners, aren't they? Just jealous of Americans, no gratitude at all...

re: The Effect of War on Telecom
Look, it is most important to support the troops during this time of crisis. I served in Vietnam, and when we got home there were neither parades nor congratulations. People want to forget about us.

As I got off the plane from Hanoi in Oakland, people were protesting. One protester came running at me, and spat at me. He called me a murderer, a killer, a baby burner, etc.

So, I turned around, and looked at him straight in the eye. And I wasted that SOB!!!

re: The Effect of War on Telecom Better book the ticket to Ahman since Sadaam International is about to be taken by US troops.
One question for the pacifists out there:

5,000 babies die every month in Iraq due to lack of food and clean water. 2500 adults die for the same reason.
So why haven't you been complaining about the loss of those civilian lives? Do the math, we are saving lives here even while waging war.
