re: The Effect of War on TelecomRT, Thanks. I am just getting warmed up.
Bobby, You mention MyLai. Perhaps you are aware that US soldiers were prosecuted for this crime. Officers, even. I can't say the same for those who murdered the students in Tiananmen square. Hell, even in Canada they only go after the enlisted men for what happened in Somalia to that kid.
You make accusations about the US bribing UN member nations and Iraqi scientists yet offer no evidence. Did you study at the Peter Arnett school of imaginative writing? I want facts! References! Not something you heard third hand that originated in "The Nation" or "the Progressive".
You also repeat the canard "Most of the victims were women and children." This is such a cliche. It is overwhelmingly males who die in every war given that most of the combatants on both sides are male. Majority non adult male deaths only happen by intentionally and systematically targeting those non-combatants. So while the US troops were supposedly doing this, where were the opposing males...husbands, brothers, etc.? I guess they were just sitting around watching. Of course, Peter Arnett sat idly by as well.
Standard Leftist Operating Procedure (SLOP). Accuse the other guy first, loudly, and with more virulence. How? Gather a bunch of, to quote Lenin, "useful idiots". Give them "talking points" and then have them chant, scream, rant, and tirade repeatedly. I believe Goebbels would be proud.
So are you aware that Grozny has basically been reduced to rubble? I'm sure you'll be protesting Russia's embassy next just waiting to arrest Putin, right?
Ah, but this ad hominem attempt to deflect just criticism doesn't really work. You're lack of any compassion for those (men, women, and children) that you consider the enemy--whether or not they have directly taken any action against ourselves--is very bin Laden like. Of course you refuse to see it and you lamely try to deflect the criticism with some witless ad hominem but I doubt anyone that is not as debased as yourself doesn't see through it. And just like bin Laden you see no problem with any amount of collateral damage as long as your holy cause is being fought for. There is one universal that is true no matter what culture or religion: A mutt is mutt, whether it wears a turban or not.

Ah, no. In my post that has led to your retorts, I basically said that civilians do, unfortunately, die in war. I stated that this is saddening, but the troops must not dwell too much on this and move on. I also said that the US is going out of its way to limit civilian casualties, probably more so than any other conflict in the history of modern warfare.
Even though your arguments are ridiculous to the point of being funny, I find it offensive that you would dare to compare me to bin Laden. There really is no reasoning with a jackass like you; I come from a much tougher part of the US than Boston and we have our own way of handling effete panzies from places like Beantown.
The purpose of my last post was quite simple: Your posts haven't been worthy of more detailed and considerate expalanations, so I have chosen to respond at a level that is appropriate to your idiocy.
Pity we don't agree on the joy of beer drinking (good beer isn't an oxymoron, even American good beer, thanks to the Full Sail IPA and other fine picks...)
Yes, I woke up this morning and realized that the US looks more and more like the 1930's Germany... a country humiliated (in this case by 9/11), and looking for a "final solution". The people unanimous behind their leader, government propaganda everywhere, the media less and less objective (especially TV), citizens of the wrong ethnic background being harassed and sometimes imprisoned without reason... Military solutions preferred to diplomacy, military budget ever increasing...
When even the artists censor themselves by fear of reprisal, it's a sign that things are going in a very, very wrong direction.
In some ways, Bush, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice and company could very well be compared to Hitler, Goering, Goebels, etc. IN THE EARLY 30's. Will Bush proclaim himself life-appointed chancellor in the interest of national security? He already stole an election...
All right, now, flame me all you can you dear people!
re: The Effect of War on TelecomCS Thanks as well.
Bobby, As evidenced by the last 2 paragraphs of your original post, I see you already have your next set of talking points. They line up nicely with U.N. inspector Kirill Scheluchenko's (Russian) allegations that the US may "plant" WMDs to make their case. You suggest the US would bribe scientists and UN member nations for their own purposes.
I ask, why hasn't the US trumpeted these "planted" WMDs already. What are they waiting for...a neon "X" that marks the spot. I guess they can't find them. Why not? The Left believes the US supplied the ingredients and the plants to make them. Surely, the US must know where they are? Won't it be exciting when they open them up so that Peter Arnett can read the "Made in the USA" label.
Hey, that's not right.Better change those "talking points." They will plant Russian and French WMDs instead. How they got them, I'll never know. I guess the same way they planted all those Russian and French tanks, jets, missiles, rockets, guns, etc.

No need to flame you, sweetie. You and gardner doing a good job of that all on your own.
re: The Effect of War on Telecomcrapshooter - good post my man, but your assuming that gardner is a man.Think about it...I'm betting he's a girl. If it talks like a girl, whines like a girl and cries like a girl, it must be a girl.
re: The Effect of War on TelecomHave you all realized that WAR is basically the same like business as usual?? War is initiated by the top government since they believe it is the proper action to do. Yes, they do concern and pity for the death of both civilians from Iraq, US, UK, and others. But that's it, it stops there.
Have you seen the same patterns with the US economy in the past 2 years with all the layoffs and restructuring everywhere?? The layoffs are done because the top management believe they need to be lean and mean with better productivity rate. So even though they do concern and pity for the layoffs people, but that's it and it stops there.
The same effect that;s happening on both themes are the average people, peasants like us who got canned (by the company) or killed (by the war) which happens to be exist on the crossroad of this tornado storm.
So don't waste your time on all these sh**, just move on and work hard since either you'll become the roadkill now or later in your life. PEACE TO YOU'LL!!!
Nicely articulated and nicely done.
