I don't think we'll be seeing CMTS auctions on eBay or CMTS rip/replacements coming so quickly.  Not because of any delay in CMAP, but because of the existing CMTS deployments (and recent upgrades) that MSOs have made.  Likely they will extract every last once of $ value from those investments before replacing them with CMAP/CESAR gear.  As for edge QAMs... let the bidding begin.

Well, of course.  Cable operators won't be tossing out perfectly good CMTSs just to make room for CMAP... there's going to be a migration rather than a big switch, as you said. I don't think anyone's suggesting that we'll suddenly see a bunch of CMTSs show up on eBay... Jorge was just joshing. But it was  a fun exercise to check out how much old crusty gear is out there on sites like eBay.  I'm sure there's alot more of this from companies that specialize in refurbished gear.   But speaking of olde tech, you might have some fun checking out when we last trotted down the Web's memory lane an took some snaps of some relatively ancient sites.
