re: Nortel, Moto in JV Talks? I would say: NATO

it will be very interesting if they finnaly come to the marrage.

the merge will not include the cell phone division as it's not competitive; the wireless merge will be very attractive. NORTEL sold all the wireless business except the wimax while Moto is quite strong in the Wimax business. Nortel's stength in enterprise business plus the Wireless will definitely provide strong proposition for the new JV. but the issue will end here, the new JV needs to acquire more business to survive including the routing, Application technology. I believe the Telabs and one of the application acceleration player will be the best option.

re: Nortel, Moto in JV Talks? Nortorola is funny.

In the past, they just did the Nokia Siemens-type combo. No imagination there:

re: Nortel, Moto in JV Talks? Not that Alcatel-Lucent was highly imaginative - but does anyone actually use that? They fondly (!) refer to that "merger" as Alcalu (shades of bitter alkali) or ALU (aloo, which means potato in Hindi).

We don't need no stinkin' focus group to come up with a name for the merger.

I still like Mortel.
