re: Nortel Resells Genband Gateways "The layoff included four corporate officers."

Are you talking about four corporate officers being laid off at Genband?

It should probably come as no surprise that the company would lay people off. We reported back in March while the companies were still in talks that less than half of the employees in the Tekelec switching business would keep their jobs:

But execs getting cut three months after the deal closed is a bit curious.

Yes, but apparently thats all it included... see follow up piece. Does releasing 4 people constitute a layoff?

They didn't get to participate in the all expense paid planning trip to Maui, replete with first class airline tickets. Bet that went over well with the rank and file.

I didnt hear about that one, but maybe said rank and file would be inclined to turn the other cheek in light of about a dozen consecutive record quarters, or whatever its been now...

re: Nortel Resells Genband Gateways The only rewards that the rank and file have seen are massive dilution of ownership stakes as "Two Buck Chuck" continues to stack dead start ups in the Genband garage.

Being on your fourth head of sales since December (now it's assigned to marketing), hemmoraging your COO, CTO, and head of BD is generally not construed as a positive sign. Even though Chiclets comments that this was an adjustment period after the Tek-a-wreck acquisition, I think it's de rigeur for companies to settle the senior level seats first, and not wait ninety days.

But hey, it's only Friday and look for new, new plan to published by Sunday evening. Of course, all plans at Genband have a shelf life that is shorter than Dairy Queen cone in the Texas sun.
