And I worked on 5 of those products (4 companies), must be some kind of record;-)

I guess there's no where left for me to go now.

Ah well, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Is there any space in networking where there has been more carnage?

You like the rise of the third world so much, why don't you join them and and a start-up there at the same time?

Please UNDERSTAND that I am making a POLICY STATEMENT (in regards to avoiding collosal waste of capital that goes in Silly Con Valley).

What I do with my life is out of bounds of this discussion!

Do you remember DOT COM BUBBLE!!!

Long live globalization and efficient use of capital.....

OpticOm,

Do not worry :-) "Reverse Outsourcing" is already happening. Be prepared to work for THIRD WORLD executives. I proposed this long time ago under the concept of "Outsource the management and keep the engineers here". I am happy to see that this UNIQUE CONCEPT is becoming a reality based on "REVERSE OUTSOURCING".

thought about this earlier in the week while reporting on the Wipro acquisition of Austrian chip design company NewLogic. (See Wipro's Wireless Expansion.) In another bit of "reverse outsourcing" -- which is poised to go from obscure economic term to official buzzword status in the upcoming election year, even though a Google search on the term still turns up fewer than 900 hits -- Wipro will actually have a European-based R&D shop, aimed at the relatively sophisticated wireless LAN market -- presumably paying European wages and taxes.
