re: Mountain-Wide WiFi as an avid technologist and an even more avid skier/snowboarder, I can resolutely say this is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Who in their right mind will take their laptop skiing and actually stop to check email mid-run? Cell phone coverage is sufficient to contact buddies for those who don't use Mot's walkabouts. A few hotspots at the base for those addicted to email might suffice, though I surmise that those already have their BBs hipside anyways.

WiMesh and WiFi are to today what "e-business" was 6 years ago. Dogfood on the internet sounded great back then, but a business model did not make. So wireless coverage everywhere including high velocity recreation areas is just anohter incarnation of this kind of indiscriminate use of new technologies for senseless applications.

But wait a minute. With this new ski-area wide coverage, maybe one could order dogfood on the internet while snowboarding...maybe two halfbaked business models add up to one that works....

:-D

re: Mountain-Wide WiFi Like your spirit...now, let's clear our minds and not think about the business model of mesh. Anyone good at math? Then help me figure out how to implement this one.....

What can we create with these technologies/innovations/trends/totally bucking the system of ideas ???? Where are the minds for this equation??? You could do it in your spare time flying on the plane. I did/am trying too.....
