re: More Monkey Bidness For two reasons:

1). Larry starred in a lame 1970's kiddie TV show "Real Ghostbusters" teaming up with Forrest Tucker and a gorilla. (Hence the monkey/ape tie-in).

2). Larry was also the voice of Phineas J. Whoppie from the Tennessee Tuxido show. He was one of the few characters I remember growing up who could explain physics to kids and a really dumb walrus. I'm sure he was an inspiration to Steve, Phil and Mary. "Phineas J. Whoppie, you're the greatest!"

re: More Monkey Bidness I was out of the office for a couple of days and just came across the article. Wow! What an honor!!! This is right up there with the births of my children and my wedding day. Actually, winning this contest may rate slightly higher than the latter.

My humble congratulations to the runners-up. You are all brilliant in your own right, but, as they say in the Highlander movies, "There can be only one."

Larry Dallas, Jack Tripper's sidekick on "Three's Company." I don't have a real explanation, other than he's real hairy as I recall.
