Didn't you listen to the song?

Didn't you read the lyrics? What is wrong with Raisecom? I never heard of them and I don't care. I thought they used BATM and I never ever considered as I needed to have features and a good CLI, not a cheap switch that I can get a lot cheaper from Wallmart (gig switches are available). We use FES-X as our standard edge switch going forward. Good luck on whatever you decide for an edgeswitch, but we thought it important for the vendor to have 100% control of the software. I could care less about the hardware honestly, but Foundry is cheaper there so thanks, I know I am smarter than the Juniper idiots.

Sure wish there was another planet to live on sometimes.. Great. More working group meetiings. Wonder what John and Scott's budget for that is?
re: MEF: Certification Wasn't EasyLet me help here, champ.
1. Just stating that FDRY is Enterprise class
2. ALA uses BATM, Telco Systems - FDRY uses a Chinese switch from Raisecomm for their feeble attempts into the CPE Carrier space...and FYI they don't control the software, if there is any, in these boxes
3. FES-X is an Enterprise grade switch. FDRY, EXTR, CSCO, 3COM, Allied Telesyn, Dell, HP, Milan, Netgear, D-link, SMC...close your eyes and pick one, it don't matter, 'bro, cause it's going in the trash can in 36-months.
4. Better to have a working group meeting than several hundred university administrator hands in your pocket - with no real business focus. A free shirt and a Grant, that's all it will take to fill that room.
