re: HP CEO Steps Down Alchemy:
The proper strategy for HP would be to spin off those DEC assets and sell them to somebody we all really hate. I propose either Iran or Microsoft.

re: HP CEO Steps Down McFly.....Hello McFly.....anybody home?

The merger of Compaq was a disaster. HP gave up 30% of the printer business to buy a business that wall street values at $0 based on the current share price.

Male, Female, animal, vegetable or mineral, she deserved to get fired for giving away a third of a great business for no increase in shareholder value.

re: HP CEO Steps Down What a load of misogynistic claptrap.
The diatribe on Carly has not one objective measure of her performance.
Come on guys, can't you do better than that?
You can tell these comments come from real CEO material!
Kick 'em when they're up! Kick 'em when they're down!
(by the way this is a male poster, and the address where you look up word meanings is dictionary.com)

Yep, right on target. The Compaq merger was billed as central to reviving HP's overall performance; instead it just dragged down the rest of the company.
I'd like to think that those complaining about poor treatment for Ms. Fiorina have never complained about CEO's getting paid lavishly for poor performance.

re: HP CEO Steps Down sorry
but being from la gent feminine, can't be a misogynist ^.

if you are aware of her track record at Lucent, then you will know why some of us do question her ability and competence, let alone her competence as a CEO.

If you are a shareholder of both LU and HP, then it is a double whammy.

re: HP CEO Steps Down It was quite opposite when Ned (Agilent) had left his position.

re: HP CEO Steps Down Thanks. Here is the view from the street (cubicles)

"Just after the official announcement came down that CEO Carly Fiorina would be sacked, corks were popped and bottles were opened. There was little time for empathy. No pangs of sadness. Inside the company, workers openly celebrated their liberation from "Her Royal Horribleness," a nickname bestowed upon Fiorina for her abrasive treatment of line workers. There was little love lost between the CEO and the 151,000 HP workers who have, almost consistently since 1999, made hating their boss a very personal, full-time mission. 'When the news was officially announced this morning, people were dancing -- literally dancing -- around their cubicles,' an employee in the business division writes in an email," King and Delio write.
