re: Headcount: Behold! A Wooly Yak!Good find, Mary, dig deep. This is an interesting story, Corning appear to have shafted themselves doubly. Look into the background of the original deal, and into why Corning 'wasn't able' to (or didn't) sell the site as a going concern.
re: Headcount: Behold! A Wooly Yak!Does the wooly yak bear any resemblance to BoobyMax? I only ask because the yak has a string of poo hanging off his back leg. The initials for a bowel movement match those of our favorite poster. Can this be a clue from LR?

re: Headcount: Behold! A Wooly Yak!This news story is pretty piss poor by most journalistic standards.
The cuts at Ciena affect ....? Is is just trimming? Are product lines affected? I'd assume LR would cultivate some level of industry contacts that shed light beyond what calling the company PR person or reading a press release would give you.
And the "future" report on the Corning - BT Exact facilities transaction.... does LR now report on the stories it WILL DO, given the lack of actual content for TODAY's story.
What's funny is that some LR stories are good, some are just plain useless. Never bothered to check if there is a correlation to who the writer is (nor do I plan to check), but this shows poor editorial control.
