re: Caspian Scores in Korea Well according to their website they have an OC-192c but don't have a 10GigE. This information is contained in the PDF that is listed as their line card data sheets. I did not see a press release noting a 10GigE.
Can you provide a pointer to the place that the 10GigE card is shown?
You are of course correct, even this network specifies MPLS at the core. However, .......... the comment about Caspian and MPLS relates to wether Caspian has the ability to focus on a broad range of MPLS/edge/core router functionality at this time, not whether they can do any at all. The comment about Asia, relates to the fact that compared to Europe and the U.S. there were pockets that took longer to warm up to MPLS, MPLS is not end to end, and there continues to be an interest in experimenting with different approaches, sometimes for technical reasons, but not always. BTW, I would not necessary view this dialog as a case of either or, it may be that some carriers want to explore models where multiple technologies are used to augment each other in the management of flows. Security is one example of flow management that is done outside of most routers (today). There may be variations on that theme, and also other aspects as well.
re: Caspian Scores in KoreaMemory size is not so significant issue. There should be appropriate flow validation/invalidation scheme to sweep out inactive flows.
re: Caspian Scores in KoreaTaken straight from the press release of the A50 announcement...
"..Like the A120, the A50 supports a variety of optical interfaces, including 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet, OC-192c/STM-64c, OC-48c/STM-16c, and OC-12c/STM-4c. The A50 supports BGP4, IS-IS, and OSPF routing and signaling protocols, with optional support for MPLS, RSVP-TE, LDP, PIM-SM, MBGP and IPv6.."
Has anyone gotten any hands on with Caspian? Looks interesting technology and wouldn't mind knowing anyones experiences with the kit.
