re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! Can someone explain the Clause in this tender which says
"THE BIDDERS OR THEIR COLLABORATORS HAVING ANY EQUITY STAKE OR OPERATING PARTNERSHIP WITH ANY OTHER CELLULAR OPERATORS EXCEPT MTNL IN INDIA SHALL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TENDER" .
Managed Services is operating partnership for sure .

re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! You are correct Prasad . Nortel is not the first deployment of BSNL .
Ericsson/Nokia in East and North ,Motorola in South with Lucent in West were the early birds with greater success .

re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! It is not true that BSNL's first deployment was Nortel. The first tender was won by Motorola / Ericsson , i think.

re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! You state the following requirement...."They must also be profitable companies."

Will Nortel ever state earnings for long enough without restating them for anyone to know?

re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! The confusion there lies in my use of the word 'initial,' which wasn't the best choice -- I used that to refer to BSNL's GSM buildout to date.

Thanks for the postings.

re: BSNL: Love Me Tender! Yes, my question exactly. What is the definition of "profitable" and does NT qualify?
