re: Big Switch Opens Up Network Tunneling

This might sound like a small announcement, and maybe it is. But Big Switch is looking at it as a milestone.

It's an entry point into existing networks, and it's a concrete example of OpenFlow taking the place of proprietary technologies.

What do you think of that? Good? Bad? Meh?

re: Big Switch Opens Up Network Tunneling

Let's just write a draft for the newest pseudowire - OpenFlow over MPLS - and be done with this nonsense :-)

PS. That should get a rise out of both the IETF and the OF crowd.

re: Big Switch Opens Up Network Tunneling

@ Craig; Meh. With the exception of a couple of test networks, this is going nowhere fast. (Thats also why Cisco is taking its time, in addition to what I already posted. This may be salient right now in terms of discussion but its not in terms of revenue or sales.)

@ Seven; Lol! Maybe you should switch to programming? ;)

@ Desi; Lmao! Light that spark of discussion..

re: Big Switch Opens Up Network Tunneling

I am thinking I could do this whole thing with OpenVPN and programming a Linux Firewall. :)
