re: Aruba Swaps Heads I hear many of the same things as the comments posted.

Missed revenue targets, accounting and engineeing issues galore.

The CEO should have been booted in January.

Current CEO a short term placeholder.

re: Aruba Swaps Heads Wonder why so many people hate that company? Hmmm....
whatupwireless 12/5/2012 | 3:56:06 AM
re: Aruba Swaps Heads I don't think "hate" is the right word but companies that bank on "get there before Cisco and let cisco buy us" have to re-tool very very quickly when the latter part of that strategy fails.

When strategies change, jobs are lost, sales commissions become narrower and narrower (as channels have to scale up), etc... and resentment builds.

They took a shot, a good shot I have to admit. But with little true differentiation they're going to twist in the wind for a while.

I'll be watching closely. There's always something to learn from these situations...where do you think MBA school business cases come from?

re: Aruba Swaps Heads http://www.redherring.com/Arti...

The first baby-step have been completed today. By next year, the new company should be called "Aruckus". It's a logical and strategic move.

re: Aruba Swaps Heads did someone "fart" in here?

or is the stink the flesh of Ruckus rotting on the vine

or Aruba's ever trashing to find a market, and self desctructing as hopes of a billion $ cash out fade away...

or is it just Dave C. trying to make some options, somewhere / anywhere, worth something?

re: Aruba Swaps Heads agree, I like your guess for Selina Lo as the CEO of combined new company. She's been there, done that with Alteon -- of course, with her personal and best friend' mentor, Dominic Orr. Juniper might buy the company if they're doing well to make a run on Cisco.
Star Man 12/5/2012 | 3:51:05 AM
re: Aruba Swaps Heads My guess is Selina Lo will become CEO of Aruba in a few months.

re: Aruba Swaps Heads Hype, Hype, Hype... let's get down to real business and the issues that affect wireless adoption and mobility(another hype). The 90's are over and the new generation is taking shape....most of the intersting minds that I encounter on a daily basis can't even remember any of these old school companies or players from that era....beards are grey and old....take your money and do as Ludacris says " Move B!a&!tch, get out the way!" Brought to you after I spent the evening with my friends talking about mesh networks and underdeveloped countries in Africa and health care. You wanna break some news, then break that kinda news and use the tools and marketing power to bring that to fuition....boringgggggggggggggg. Your name will be on the front page.... THINK!

re: Aruba Swaps Heads young boy "meshsecurity" -- I agree with you, all this crap about WiFi abgnze acronyms ... is full of hot ballons. To get a BIG picture, THINK about the alternative energy market such as ethanol, solar, etc. For your Econ 101, this WiFi market is the monopolistic competition market aka you can not control/dictate the price of your good/service, it can only be done through a differentiation. If you want to make BIGGER money, go to the oligopoly or "pure" monopoly markets such as crude oil, water, electric. You should review your Econ 101 course that you took it last year.
