re: Apple TV: A New Channel for MoviesGiven the announcement of Netflix offering unlimited downloads, I'm not sure if the Apple price points make sense. I know that for my money, I'd rather get 3 DVDs out at a time and unlimited online viewing for $17 a month, as opposed to Apple's $2.99 or $3.99 per title. Plus, Netflix has 6,000 titles, as opposed to Apple's 1,000.

re: Apple TV: A New Channel for MoviesNot sure how instant any full hi-def download will be due to storage capacity & download speeds, i.e at 15 GB & 10 Mbps download = over 3 hours download time. Although still quicker than overnight Fedex/UPS.
re: Apple TV: A New Channel for MoviesNot everyone likes the NetFlix model. More casual movie-watchers want instant delivery of movies on-demand.
What I'm suggesting is that those of us interested in instant delivery can still get that with Netflix's instant download via PC, and do so at a cheaper price point for the unlimited subscription pricing than what Apple offers (depending on how many movies you watch). Why pay to 'rent' a movie from Apple, when I can watch a movie through Netflix that comes as part of my subscription cost?

re: Apple TV: A New Channel for MoviesDoes anyone notice the similarity between the Apple box and the <what it="" was=""> little iBox computer they came out with <how ago="" many="" years="">? The one that sat on the store shelves and sat and sat...
Anyway, nice try at recovery...gotta hand it to Jobs and crew.
And to the Netfix dude: you miss the high concept...this is not <just> iTV, it's iHiFi. Because the next obvious <step it="" up=""> bundle is iTV and iTunes, and then who needs much from Sony but the monitor...and maybe some Bose speakers...
re: Apple TV: A New Channel for MoviesI personally don't like subscription services. I can go months without the urge or time to rent a DVD. The ability to casually rent a movie on demand without paying a monthly fee is very attractive.
Sheesh.

Are NetFlix downloads available in HD?
