re: 3Com to Buy Force10, Riverstone? 3Com has failed as a business entity in the last five-to-six years. It had no business focus and business development strategies. It kept buying businesses and exiting out of these businesses. In this process the company lost billions of dollars hurting its shareholders.

It is not too late for the comany to identify its areas of interest. It also needs to reduce its workforce to align with its revenue. It is doubtful that company would ever be profitable. It has joined a group of companies like Silicon Graphics, Lucent, Xeros, Unisys and Novell
