re: 2002 Top Ten: Pink Slips "Now more than ever, the Gluon team must have the start-up/do whatever it takes mentality. If any of you are not of that mentality anymore, have
personal/family issues that prohibit you from making the full commitment, please tell me that as well and I will do whatever I can to assist you to find a job outside of Gluon."

Next day she left for a vacation in Hawaii.

Gotta go. Need to study for GMAT and get into
MBA program, become CEO, so one day I can screw around with other people's life.

re: 2002 Top Ten: Pink Slips Intrigued by your post but knowing nothing about Gluon Networks, I went to their site to look at the faces and bios of their leadership team.
Imagine my surprise to discover that the company was co-founded by J. Roth (who remains as CTO)!

re: 2002 Top Ten: Pink Slips Unfortunately, this type of behaviour is not uncommon. Many "executives" did it before and will do it again, without remorse.
Unfortunately for them, the market is different, people learned that chasing the hottest start-up does not pay off, in 99% of the cases, and that their lives are more important than making the "executives" rich at the expense of their families and their health.
