re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsChuck, HSPA+/LTE single-mode (probably single vendor too) small cells coming first from AT&T in Q3 and Q4.
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsI think it'll get worked out, but intelligently connecting to macro versus micro and then 3G, 4G or WiFi seamlessly and without interference is no small task.
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsI thought the AT&T science project started by evaluating the small cell hand-off with macro cells, now that they are throwing in all of these other stuff, if they figure all of these new stuff, which I am sure they eventually will, I think someone is due for getting a Nobel prize. Congratulations in advance.
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsVerizon said it has no plans for multimode small cells as of now, which makes sense -- it doesn't need 3G, and it hasn't been aggressive about Wi-Fi yet. The latter could change though.
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsBTW, AT&T is not behind schedule on its multimode small cell roll out. It always said 2014 - 2015. If anything it may be a little ahead of schedule as the latest update is "in the field in 2014."
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsHaving Wi-Fi on board will make it easier to support multiple service providers on the same small cell, which should appeal to venue owners.
re: Multimode Small Cells Get Stalled in LabsSounds terribly complicated especially considering management. If there are freely available tools to troubleshoot then it may simplify things.
By the way who is Mindset?
