I disagree with those saying that virtualization techs are "essential" to "everything-as-a-service."

"Everything-as-a-service" necessarily implies IoT -- and the sensors and other IoT devices are too small at this point to be able to virtualize or to make it worth deploying virtualization.  (Sure, you can virtualize the cloud itself, but that is not strictly vital for what we're talking about here.  Cloud is essential to XaaS, IoT is essential to "EaaS", and big-data analytics is essential to IoT.  Q.E.D.)
