Avail-TVN Will Buy Again, CEO Says

BOSTON -- The Cable Show -- Digital media delivery company Avail-TVN is likely to buy again, according to CEO Ramu Potarazu.

Avail-TVN announced Monday that it has bought U.K.-based On Demand Group from SeaChange International Inc. (Nasdaq: SEAC) for US$27 million. Avail-TVN also revealed that it has raised a $100 million round led by the The Carlyle Group LLC . (See Avail-TVN Buys SeaChange VoD Unit for $27M and SeaChange Unloads VoD Content Unit for $27M.) Potarazu told Light Reading Tuesday night that the company could try for further growth with more acquisitions.

"Would we buy again?" said Potarazu. "Yes, absolutely."

Potarazu says that advertising and analytics companies are possible targets for his acquisitive firm. He wouldn't name any targets, though.

Avail-TVN is already growing with its buyout of On Demand Group. The group handles 1 billion video-on-demand transactions per year and counts customers in 20 countries, including service providers such as Virgin Media Business Ltd.
