SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), a technology leader in the development of extreme broadband communications solutions, today announced the industry's first and only complete chipset solution to address the high port count Gigabit Ethernet switch market. Marvell?s 12-port Gigabit Ethernet reference design, the RD-48360-1040S, supports both copper and fiber Gigabit interfaces with the Company?s leading-edge Alaska? Quad+ Gigabit transceiver. An example of the combined strength of Marvell?s physical layer technology and the recently acquired Galileo controller and switching technology, the RD-48360-1040S reference design provides OEMs with a powerful tool to increase Gigabit port density, improve performance and reduce time to market.
