BACKNANG, Germany -- Marconi Corporation plc (London: MONI; Nasdaq: MRCIY) today announced that it has been chosen by Netia S.A. Poland to support its roll out of POTS and ISDN broadband services to its residential and enterprise customers.

Marconi is supplying Netia with the AXH600 and AXH2500 versions of its Access Hub alongside its Distributed Multiservice Platform. The technology will enable Netia to offer a range of flexible broadband access services to its customers such as xDSL (Digital Subscriber Line), voice over DSL, video, Ethernet and Asynchronous Transfer Mode. The Access Hub will allow Netia to adapt these services to the requirements of each customer, simply by adding interface units to the existing infrastructure.

Marconi's Access Hub, which marks the first true next-generation multiservice access node, offers operators significant cost saving and new revenue opportunities by combining voice and data services, as well as handling high definition video streams considerably faster than traditional networks. The scalability and robust backplane architecture of Marconi's Access Hub also allows service providers to add capacity as broadband take-up grows and the demand for new differentiated and value added services gains momentum.

The new network elements will be managed by Marconi's ServiceOn Access network management system, which is already installed within Netia's network.
