Manticom's integrated switching and transport Gigabit Ethernet solution interoperates with MidStream Technologies' video servers

BELLEVUE, Wash. and CHANTILLY, Va. -- MidStream Technologies, a leading developer of broadcast quality and highly scalable Video on Demand servers and solutions and Manticom Networks, a leading developer of multi-gigabit, scalable, integrated transport and switching solutions, today announced that they have successfully completed interoperability tests between Manticom’s Scorpion 4104 and Midstream Technologies’ IP2000 Series of Video Servers. MidStream has certified both the switching and transport aspects of Manticom’s integrated solution.Gigabit Ethernet is a transport vehicle that allows cable operators to deliver to subscribers a wide range of on-demand services, including Video on Demand (VOD), Subscription VOD (SVOD), Personal Video Recorder (PVR) and Gaming with dramatically reduced capital expenditures. MidStream’s IP2000 servers are the first hybrid media delivery platform achieving the performance and reliability of a dedicated hardware solution with the flexibility of software.
