Lynx has appointed Domenico Di Mola to the newly created position of director, process and technology

CALABASAS HILLS, Calif. -- Lynx Photonic Networks (www.LynxPN.com), the leading photonic switch company, has appointed Domenico Di Mola to the newly created position of director, process and technology. An internationally recognized expert in the design, development and manufacturing of products using planar lightwave circuit (PLC) and SiOB (silicon optics bench) technologies, Di Mola will oversee Lynx's PLC manufacturing process and also evaluate new technologies for Lynx to adopt as it expands its product offerings.

Before joining Lynx, Di Mola served as R&D operating manager for Agilent's optoelectronic component operation in Italy and Singapore. Previously, he was technical director and a board member of Gefran Silicon Microsystems S.r.l., which Agilent acquired in 2001. His career also includes telecommunications giant Italtel, where he was an IC and optoelectronic designer and later R&D operating manager.

A much sought-after author and speaker within the worldwide optoelectronics community, Di Mola has published or presented 19 technical papers. He has also patented a tunable add/drop optical device. Di Mola holds a master's of science degree in electronic engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin in Italy.

In his position with Lynx, Di Mola will be based in Milan, Italy where he will also oversee sale network activities of Lynx-Europe.
