HANOVER, Germany -- Bridging the broadband divide between the metropolitan network and the enterprise has been a challenge facing many of today's emerging service providers. Broadband service providers are experiencing difficulty maximising the use of existing fibre infrastructure at the access point, which, in turn, leads to under-utilisation and loss of revenue. This challenge is about to be overcome with the European launch of LuxN, a leading provider of broadband multi-service optical access solutions that will enable carriers to cost effectively offer more bandwidth to their enterprise customers, and provide value-added services such as Voice over IP (VoIP), Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Andy Johnson has been appointed as country manager for the UK and Ireland, and will be based out of LuxN's new UK headquarters in London. Spearheading the launch of its European operations, Paul Senior, director of European sales says, "There is a huge broadband debate raging at the moment. On one hand you have enterprise customers demanding more and more bandwidth to support new services and applications. And on the other hand you have service providers who have a glut of bandwidth that is highly under-utilised. The LuxN WavSystem presents an efficient solution to bridge this divide between supply and demand giving both the enterprise and the service provider a win - win situation."
