CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Luminous Networks continues to rapidly build its market presence in the growing Chinese telecommunications market. Luminous, which has been shipping its metro optical access systems to major Chinese carriers for more than two years, plans to double its staff in China over the next 90 days. In addition, Luminous plans to expand its presence in China beyond its current Shanghai facility by opening an office in Beijing in the first quarter of 2003.Luminous’ current China headquarters in Shanghai includes staff for sales and customer support, as well as a customer demonstration lab. Over the next three months, Luminous plans ambitious growth of its team in China, with the addition of staff for customer service, sales support, marketing, channel management, and general management. Luminous has already signed agreements with seven reseller and system integration partners to represent the company with the key Chinese service providers.
