LSI Logic's high-performance ASIC chipset enables Extreme Networks' next-generation switch technology

MILPITAS, Calif. -- LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced it is providing a high performance ASIC chipset for Extreme Networks, Inc.'s (Nasdaq: EXTR) Fourth Generation Silicon System (4GNSS). By collaborating with LSI Logic, designers at Extreme Networks have access to the company's industry leading system-on-a-chip (SoC) expertise, unique FlexStream(R) design methodology, and advanced packaging technology. LSI Logic contributed to Extreme Network's ability to quickly design unique solutions that provide a competitive edge in meeting the surging demand for Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet products.
