Lightship Enlists NorthEast Optic Network

WESTBOROUGH, MA--NorthEast Optic Network, Inc. ("NEON(R)") (NASDAQ:NOPT) has signed a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with LightShip Telecom, LLC of Nashua, NH for fiber optic network services throughout the Northeast.

LightShip has signed an initial MSA order for two OC3's that extends its network into the metro Boston, Waltham and Worcester, Massachusetts areas. The Agreement is for a period of 5 years. LightShip offers telephone and data services to customers in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont and now Massachusetts, using NEON(R)'s fiber backbone to carry its traffic.

NEON(R) Chairman and CEO, Vincent Bisceglia, said: "LightShip is an Integrated Communications Provider (ICP) that is carving out a prominent niche in the telecommunications marketplace in this part of the country. We expect LightShip to continue to grow into one of NEON(R)'s most significant and valued customers."

LightShip President Kevin O'Hare said: "The NorthEast Optic Agreement allows Lightship to build our backbone by connecting all of our switches, creating a highly reliable level of service to our customers."
