SAN ANTONIO -- LightPointe, a global designer and manufacturer of Free-Space Optics (FSO) products, and TerraWave Solutions, a value-added distributor of Wi-Fi solutions, today announced a partnership to provide Wi-Fi resellers with LightPointe’s products that deliver up to 2.5 gigabits of full-duplex wireless bandwidth.

LightPointe’s products are based upon FSO, a laser-based technology through which license-free optical connectivity of voice, video and data is sent and received simultaneously on invisible beams of light. LightPointe products are customer deployed in more than 50 countries.

Under the terms of the agreement, TerraWave and LightPointe will develop a strong channel and promotional programs to provide U.S. and Canadian resellers with LightPointe’s FSO products, which offer point-to-point connectivity faster and more cost-effectively than other traditional radio-based technologies or fiber-optic cable. TerraWave will incorporate LightPointe’s FlightSpectrum™, FlightStrata™ and FlightApex™ products into its full line of Wi-Fi infrastructure and accessory products.
