LightPath Technologies and Dr. Steve Brueck form technical advisory committee to assist the board of directors

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- LightPath Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPTH), manufacturer and integrator of families of high performance fiber optic components for the telecom industry, today announced that Dr. Steve Brueck has formed a Technical Advisory Committee to assist the Company's Board of Directors. Dr. Brueck, who joined the Board of Directors in July 2001, is the Director of the Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and a Professor of Physics at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Brueck will chair the newly formed Technical Advisory Committee that will assist the board and management in evaluating technology opportunities both internal and external to the Company. The Committee members include: -- Dr. Alan Willner, Professor of Electrical Engineering - Systems at the University of Southern California. With over 300 publications, his research is in the area of optical fiber communications, wavelength-division multiplexing, optical amplification, optical networks, switching and interconnections. -- Mr. Thomas M. Brennan, currently the CEO of Zia Laser and co-founder of MicroOptical Devices in Albuquerque, New Mexico. MicroOptical Devices was acquired by EMCORE in December 1997. -- Dr. Julian Cheng, Vice President R&D of E2O Communications, Inc. who has had 30 plus years experience in optoelectronics and fiber optic communications at Bell Laboratories and the University of New Mexico.
