The test cycles consist of altering the attenuation from 0dB to 15dB and back to 0dB. Each cycle was completed in 250 microseconds during a test period of 10 months. By going well beyond the industry standard of 10 million cycles, in addition to passing Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221 qualification in October of 2001, the Fast VOA emerges as the clear choice for dynamic optical networks.
