Last Call

5:45 PM -- Three things you should read before Happy Hour:

1) The NTIA and RUS have agreed to hold public meetings in Washington, D.C., on March 16, 19, 23, and 24, 2009, to discuss what to do with the billions the Recovery Act has dropped in their laps for redistribution. Among the questions they'll be pondering: What is the most efficient, effective, and fair way to carry out the requirement that the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) be established expeditiously and that awards be made before the end of fiscal year 2010? Good luck with all that.

2) Oh, joy. I've always wanted to read my voicemail.

3) It's obvious from all the detail given at today's Palm/Sprint Webcast that the two companies read Bob Faulkner's column and clearly felt he didn't portray them as desperate enough.
