La, La, La

5:55 PM -- Hey, someone's invented a real "cone of silence," just like on Get Smart, which I never saw as a child because we had spy shows like Callan instead. (Plot synoposis: Edward Woodward is miserable about his murderous job and then gets his head kicked in -- every single week.)

Yep, I don't pretend to know how this works but Spanish scientists have developed a "cloak of silence" that deflects soundwaves and give users a private space or quiets down noisy objects. Sounds like it could be really useful for blocking cellphone conversations. But I do wonder where the soundwaves go once they are "deflected."
