SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Kawasaki LSI, Inc. (KLSI) and Internet Machines Corporation today announced that, using their respective components, developers of OC-192 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet networking systems can enjoy a seamless hardware and software interface between Internet Machines' NPE10 network processor and Kawasaki LSI's content addressable memories (CAMs). Together, the two companies plan to dramatically shorten developer time to market by as much as 18 months while extending product life cycles. Developers can also expect full software upgradeability using the two companies' complementary ICs. The combined offering from the companies will reduce system footprint and make system design significantly easier for developers of core routers and switches, metro core systems, aggregation systems, data centers, storage area networks (SANs), and other 10Gbps networking platforms.Kawasaki LSI, Inc.Internet Machines Corp.
