SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Cyber Internet Service Private Ltd., the leading service provider in Pakistan, has selected Juniper Networks M-series multiservice routers and SDX Service Deployment System to create the country's first IP/MPLS network. The new network will support Cyber Internet's launch of multiplay services including voice, video and data for business and residential customers throughout the country. The deployment is being completed with the assistance of Juniper's local partner, Premier Systems Private Ltd.

'In an emerging Internet economy such as Pakistan, our customers are looking for reliable, secure broadband Internet access around the clock, as well as innovative, differentiated services,' said Ansar ul Haq, director and COO at Cyber Internet. 'With its best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities, Juniper's M-series and SDX platforms provide a flexible and customizable network that enables us to rapidly trial, refine and scale a wide array of services easily and cost-effectively -- all on a single network'.

Cyber Internet, recognized as one of Pakistan's most technically advanced and commercially innovative service providers, has deployed Juniper's M7i and M10i routers to create its new network. Both platforms use JUNOS software, which provides a rich set of services and robust Internet routing in the world's largest production networks. JUNOS is based on advanced, modular software design principles that ensure network stability, resiliency, and high availability. The M-series offers the breadth of interfaces required to enable network access via a wide range of different connection types (Ethernet, ATM, Frame Relay, Leased line) and the scalability to support thousands of VPNs and tens of thousands of end users from a single routing platform.

The Juniper Networks SDX Service Deployment System is a robust, customizable application that enables service providers to create and deploy new IP services to hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The SDX enables end-users and applications to interact intelligently with the IP network and request changes in bandwidth distribution, quality of service or other key metrics.

'Cybernet's migration to IP/MPLS networking represents a major step for its long-term business development and market share traction,' said Gert-Jan Schenk, vice president of operations, EMEA, Juniper Networks. 'The company's decision to rely on Juniper for its core-to-edge networking and service delivery capability highlights once again our ability to deliver secure and assured networking to our customers.'
