(Nasdaq: JNPR), a leading provider of profitable infrastructures for the New Public Network, today announced Cable & Wireless (NYSE: CWP) is building out its global Internet Protocol (IP) network using Juniper Networks M-series Internet routers. This latest initiative is part of Cable and Wireless' rollout of the most accessible, reliable and advanced IP network in the industry. This latest enhancement of its global IP network allows Cable & Wireless to rapidly create numerous quality IP services using multiprotocol label switching (MPLS). The MPLS capabilities, provided by Juniper Networks M160 Internet routers, make way for the deployment of new, concurrent IP services that leverage high-speed access lines for end-customers at OC3 (155 megabits per second) speeds and above. "Cable & Wireless will provision new IP capabilities over both dedicated high-speed access lines and lower speed consumer broadband services using Juniper Networks MPLS-based Internet infrastructure," said Phil Green, senior vice president, Global Operations at Cable & Wireless.
